Market Demographics
The 80Beers target market is the typical beer consumer; adult males between 26 and 45 years of age.
The primary market focus for 2007 is North America. In 2008, the market will expand to Western Europe and Australia.
Banner Advertising
When users access an 80Beers web page to either obtain information on beer or brewers or to add a record to their tasting
database, a small standard advertising banner (190 pixels x 80 pixels) is displayed in the header.
Each page footer also includes two medium-sized, side-by-side banners (400 pixels x 80 pixels).
A large vertical skyscraper advertising panel along the right hand side of each page will also be visible to users
with high-resolution monitors.
Each banner ad links directly to the advertisers website.
Advertisers can purchase banner space on a per-impression basis.
Targeted advertising, delivered to 80Beers users that reside in a specific metropolitan area or state, is also available.
News Items
Casual and registered users all have access to the 80Beers series of news pages. News pages target specific target
markets by territory and users can switch between regions to view news anywhere in the world.
The 80Beers News table supports links to full online articles. 80Beers uses this news feature to update information on
the 80Beers network. When space is available, advertisers can reach 80Beers users through the news service.
Examples of advertising on this service include announcements of new products, special offers, and implementation of
new web services.
Featured Sites
80Beers web pages include a standard button bar across the top of each page. The Beer of the Day and Daily Hot Spot
buttons link to featured beers, breweries, brewpubs, pubs, restaurants, grocery stores, and other retail outlets.
Featured sites are randomly assigned for each day. Advertisers can arrange to list their location as a featured
site and can target their advertising to specific market segments (metropolitan area, state, or country).
Direct Marketing Opportunities
The 80Beers direct advertising group will implement a new direct mail advertising program in early-2007. All 80Beers
members will receive a semi-annual mailer containing information on 80Beers services as well as advertising materials
provided by industry for inclusion in the mailer. Piece advertising may include such items as new product announcements,
special offers, or even restaurant sample menus. Advertisers pay 50¢ per unit plus 23¢/ounce to include
materials in the mailer. Targeted advertising to specific zip codes can also be arranged. The new direct
mail program will be an extremely efficient means to reach a highly focused market ... members will look forward to
receiving these regular mailing.
